New bike + Accessories

Obviously not counting 3rd party accessories...

If you buy a new bike and, for example, you say you want a centre stand, does the dealer actually fit it for you or do they go:

"Here's your nice new bike... oh and your centre stand that you'll need to fit yourself (or pay us huge wads of cash to do so)"

I know it may seem like a daft question, but everywhere I look people seem to be fitting accessories themselves. Is this just because they didn't buy at the same time as getting the bike?

All depends on the bike, some do have a centrestand option but not that many. Most are either fitted as standard to start with or there is no provision for fitting one at all and you have to use a paddock stand.

If the bike doesn't have one, but can be fitted, it's one of those things you can haggle about
