What's the best way to analyze what I think's a weave. My 1983 nighthawk 550 gets loose in the rear around 100mph and it's pretty scary. I immediatly slow it down and the weave goes away but I think if I continued to speed up it'd become unmanageable and I'd loose it. The tires show lots of tread and arn't too old. Otherwise it runs well. It doesn't take long to get to that speed. I haven't owned the bike too long so I don't know its history.

thanks,

Have you checked the rear suspension? tyre pressures? is the steering very loose at the front, i.e. not adjusted correctly, are your tyres in good condition?

What's weaving? I've been having a weird thing at high speeds to on the bros. Hard to explain but I suddenly loose confidence in the back tyre, it's like I can feel it being really light and wobbling about (obviousley not but how it feels).

Its a nighthawk 550 not a sportsbike...

It probably just does that! Smile

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
