Pc hardware fault.

Go guys just after a bit of advice. Coupe of weeks ago my pc kept coming up with a blue screen saying a major hardware fault has occurred. Was going to try a system restore when I found my windows disc but when I switch the pc on thereis nothing coming up on the screen. So fiddling about with wires still nothing. The real issue here is that I can't find anyone with a spare graphics to see if that was what was causing the problem. I don't want to waste money going out to buy a new one unless this is the problem. What do you think??

Do you not have on board graphics.

How many RAM sticks do you have. If more than one try each one on its own.

Does the hard drive seem to be working. Is it possible to swap with one from a laptop etc to test.

Do you get beeps from the motherboard at the start. This could give you a clue to what's gone wrong.

Nothing coming up as in what?
Your post could mean a lot of different things tbh so lets start of with basics.

1) try removing the graphics card then using the onboard graphics to eliminate that.

2) Remove all but 1 ram stick to see if its a duff ram module causing issues.

3) A faulty PSU is hard to test really, but if you have a spare one about, try that and see if you still BSoD

I recently had random BSoD out of no where and it was my CPU's overclock causing me a lot of problems, but following the 3 steps about I couldn't fault my systems parts and thus put it down to the overclock in agreement with CaNsA.

Assuming the base powers up
Try reseating the RAM, then the Processor.

If still no joy then pull the power and the cmos battery from the motherboard, press the on button a few times (with the power cord still out). Now refit the battery and the power and try it again.

beyond that more of a fault description is required

hi guys cheers for the replys. Its a pain in the arse trying to write problems on here using a mobile. Also i've been staying at my cousins the last week and a bit looking after the dog whilst they are on holiday so that has been a bit of a inconvienience.
I will go down and have a proper look at it today, try some of the things that have been said and try write down a proper description of what the problem is.

Quick wee update.
I have a VGA cable and the on board does not so I don't have the correct connections just now to try that out

Anyway. Everything connected normally. I turned pc on:
Fans running,
Small buzz sound that sounds like its coming from hard drive.
Green light on bottom of the motherboard.
No beeps on start up
No power light on front of desktop
No signal to tv.

It's the same with either stick of ram disconnected.

Unplug everything from inside (HDD dvd drive graphics cards USB's etc.) except the CPU one stick of ram. See if it posts (beeps) if it does add bits one by one till it doesn't.

Unplugged everything and left the CPU and one stick of ram. Still no beep. Switched ram stick and still no beep.

If all the voltages check out, then there is a problem with your RAM CPU or MOBO.

Remove RAM and try booting it up and if the processor is Ok then it should beep sound stating it cannot find any memory installed, and if it doesn't beep an error code then either processor is dead or a fault has occurred on the motherboard itself.

If you do get a beep error code then test each memory DIMM individually till you find the culprit that is failing till you get the one that allows it to boot up properly, but if you've got onboard graphics and if that has gone then you could if you have graphics slot then install a card or the cheapest option is just get a new motherboard that is compatible with your current hardware.

Also, try disconnecting the HDD cable in case of hard drive failure causing it to hang at that point, but I remember old IBM desktops had that problem of hanging on bootup and you had to remove the floppy cable from the board then replug it back in to overcome the short!

Tried booting up the pc with no ram cards in and i never got any beeps. 😞 That was with nothing else connected to it too. So sounds as if the processor is kack.
