It doesn't say it's specifically for motorcycles but I've read that I need 10W40.

Will that be OK?

Thanks.

That one is also on offer. Is that a no-no because it;s 5W/30?

Thanks.

I use it, but I change my oil regularly so it doesn't matter so much. I'd stick with the 10/40 personally. I thought they were both on offer?

I'd use it in Paddy's bikes too. Thumbs Up

There's nothing special about bike oil, and API-SL is way better than what your bike (or mine) was designed to run on.

The issue is with it being too good, and having wet clutch buggering E-Z-Slip friction reducers in it.

However, that's their budget semi, so it's not likely. Plenty of folk run their bikes on similar.

Isn't it the JASO-MA spec thing that it has to list to be suitable for wet-clutch bikes.

Had a problem getting oil from halfords a couple of years ago - ZX6 is wet clutched, went to buy their motorcycle oil and it didn't specify JASO, staff were clueless, ended up contacting the supplier Comma - who confirmed it was JASO compliant - just no one bothered to print it on the label Doh!

That being said i've always used their motorcycle oil 10w40 since and had no problems what so ever

For the extra 10 or so quid it'll cost to get the motorcycle specific oil from halfords personally i'd go with that to avoid the risk of any complications - maybe being a bit over cautious but on a 06 bike might as well keep it going smooth than take any chances id of thought Thinking

I do 2 oil changes for £2.99 ... an extra £10 or so is just a rip off. Little and often.

Is the oil youre using okay for wet clutches do you know? If so where are you buying Very Happy thats incredibly cheap i struggled to get 4 litres below about 20 quid Neutral that is buying single containers rather than a few in bulk admittedly
