It's not much of a plan but I'm getting there.

After much fiddling and changing bits I think I trust it enough to go on a real trip. I took it 100 miles to Bristol and back last week when the oil cooler bracket snapped and oil pipe leaked oil all over my boot but thats been sorted, just need to sort rear hub and I'm happy.

I think I can carry enough to camp my way into Europe somewhere, thinking maybe northern France and towards Spain.

Plan?

The resolution on my PC screen meant as I read your post all I could see was the obvious top to some sort of top-box.
Was wondering what bike it was.....scrolled down...did not expect that!

Good luck Sir! Smile

That looks absolutely crippling. Are you fairly short, or do you just have a really high pain threshold? Laughing

If you pull it off then fair play to you though Razz

I am about average height, over average weight.

I do though have plenty of experience of spending my days on a bike stopping purely for fuel.
My biggest single, non stop run on this has been 50 miles so far but with the new engine and several replaced parts simply to rid myself of the chinky crap that was liable to fall apart I am happy it will cope, it feels much better.
I'm not going to be thrashing it and can't see myself doing more than 150 miles in a day on it so sure it'll be fine.

The biggest day will be getting to France, 150 miles to the tunnel or newhaven to Dieppe ferries can be sensibly priced at times and that's only 90 miles from here.

The monkey will do just fine. Thumbs Up

Looking good. New rear hub and bearings, rear light and a couple of bulbs changed today along with one tooth smaller on the back it feels better, wheelies less and may do a little better on the mpg sine it's not struggling to drag me along.

Hoping front bearings and phone charging stuff will be here tomorrow and i'll get on and fit that along with new front tyre and it'll be ready to roll.
Looking like a newhaven-dieppe ferry is favourite since it's only 90 miles from here and not priced too horrifically, just waiting on the weather and a hospital appointment Tuesday to tell me how long I have left to live and i'm off. probably
