Recently discovered a few oldish movies which i had overlooked, due to being born in 91.
A few i saw recently are Goodfella's, Carlito's Way, The Devils Advocate (dont know how i missed this one as its always on Sky) and last night i watched, and really enjoyed, Heat.

Recommend any others? Generally most movies with Robert De Niro or Al Pacino i've really enjoyed. Scarface was brilliant.
Downloaded Scent Of A Woman but not watched it yet, any good?

Although this 35minute film was made in '72 I didn't see it until the 80's. Smile

Best watched at the end of a long day.

Is it strange that i think that film is garbage? I never liked it back then and I still don't get the buzz about it now.

I'm sorry.

If you could just list every film you've ever seen and then I'll fill in the good ones you've missed... Wink

Big Trouble in Little China.

Thank me later.

The Princess Bride. For entirely different reasons, mainly Inigo Montoya.

The Dark Crystal. Because Henson puppets.

The 70s had some pretty decent movies too. Very Happy

Tho I'd add One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest and The Outlaw Josey Wales for starters, if we're in that decade.

For the 80s add John Carpenter's the Thing (1982), and for a geek out popcorn session, the original (1951) Thing afterwards. Even throw in Dark Star (1974) for some low budget, B movie Carpenter geekdom.

Never thought much of the Shawshank Redemption. For me it didn't live up to the hype that surrounds it.

In no particular order...

80's

Top Gun
Labyrinth
Gremlins
The Terminator
Die Hard
Police Academy
The Dark Crystal
Stand By Me
Uncle Buck
The Never Ending Story
Caddyshack
The Goonies
Scarface
Full Metal Jacket
Coming to America

90's

Mrs Doubtfire
Ace Ventura - Pet Detective & When Nature Calls
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
Dumb and Dumber
Fight Club
Jurassic Park
Schindlers List
Pulp Fiction
Reservoir Dogs
Saving Private Ryan

Which is the one with Kurt Russell set in the desert? His wife gets kidnapped by a trucker and he has to find her and get her back. Really good movie

Can't believe nobody has mentioned the Karate Kid! Am I the only one who loved the original Ralph Macchio version but hated the remake?

The Never Ending Story

This.

I used to love this film as a kid and went back to watch it recently for nostalgic reasons. I kinda expected it not to live up to the memories. This film stands up very well watching it as an adult.

The second and third can go die somewhere though.
