Think that is what is on my little road legal pit bike. I wouldn't recommend one for a road bike, I'd probably look at getting a 130 80 17 as they seem far more readily available.

Haaaa, I used one of those.

Let's put it this way, if a 30bhp 4 stroke single can cause them to break traction in the dry, don't expect miracles.

The Avon touring tyre on the front had more grip, and that's saying something!

Thanks Paddy, sort of what I thought. A complete noob question now Embarassed How do you work out what sizes you can use e.g. 110/90 to 130/80?

What size tyres does it say it needs?

I tend to change the profiles slightly if I see one cheaper and they are hard to find tyres.

So if its a 130/90-17 I'd go to 130/80-17 without thinking about it.

110/90-17 would also probably go to 110/80-17.

Personally, I don't ride mental enough for such small changes to affect me Laughing

drop both the 90 to 80 sizes and you get plenty showing up on ebay for cheap, metzelers and bridgestones Thumbs Up

Prefer to pay the few extra quid for something that might stick to the road Wink

Maxxis Supermaxx, no issues with them, but unlikely to be your current flavour of tyre. Some people hate them, personally I won't go near another set of BT45's, people love them, I hate them. Most of it is personal preference.

If they were deadly tyres, they would have been scrapped Wink

Indeed. They're superb for my TZR, but don't think I'd stick them on anything else tho.

I'm a fan of Maxxis Supermaxx tyres. I did 12,000 miles on one rear but to be fair you could see the threads by the time I got it changed Shocked

Can't argue with the performance though for a £100 tyre. Thumbs Up

My das has a rear cougar on his Honda 550/4... they have the same tread pattern as a michelin activ.

I've used bt45 before and they are great tyres.. but a bit dated now and square of pretty harshly Shocked

I run Michelin pilot activs which are ace atm Very Happy

I agree.

I also dislike Bridgestones with a passion.

But BT45's work, and work quite well.

On my GT250 im using Sava MC7 tyres. Never had a problem with them.
