Hey all
I got a Honda x8r to get me around and it works, but has a slightly weird starting problem heres a pic of it maybe it will help or summit
https://www.zen22204.zen.co.uk/DSCN0949.JPG

Anyway ill get to the point everytime i start it after leaving it for say 12 hours or longer the first time i accelarate with it past 20mph it will not go anywhere it will just make a weird sound trying to rev but sounding like its struggling and go about 4mph does this for about 4 seconds then it slowly gets faster and faster and stops doing it.
At first i thought it was a warming up problem specialy as it does it worse on cold days but no matter how long i leave it to warm up idleing it will still do it (i left it ideling for almost 15mins once no diffarance).
it only does it after its been left for a min of say 12 hours over night etc longer i leave it worse it gets if i leave it for mor than 2 days it does it terribly smoking majorly for the first 1min or so.
any idea's to whats causing that?

My Ped did that as well, and as far as I know its normal. The engine is struggling to kick out all the dense cold gas, and when you open the throttle more gas is being pushed out which is why it stutters on full throttle and wont clear when idling (infact leaving it for 15 minutes probably left you with more smoke, worse performance as all the gasses would condense on the cold exhaust). I think the cause of it is condesation, just water vapour natually finding its way into the exhaust as it cools and condesing in it, which is why it gets worse the longer you leave it.

In my opinion its nothing to worry about, is just part of the starting ritual with peds and mine certanly did it all the time I had it (better in hot weather, but then theres less chance of water vapour condensing).

Cheers, Jonathan
