How long will insurance companies wait before canceling your insurance on the matter of seeing your no claims bonus?

I have 14 days to wait for mine, so I'm wondering if i could bs them for around 10 days before sending my no claims bonus when i finally get it in the next 14 days.

I'm under the illusion that the insurance company will only need to see a copy of my ncb/ licence.

its a bit odd because some will accept an "I haf 1 yr m8" other want the full no claims on application, your best bet is to ask them.

When I took out my policy at the end of January they asked for a copy of my licence and NCB.... they're still waiting to see them*

*OK so the DVLA are still being useless c**ts and still haven't returned my licence yet, and the insurance company said they would wait

When I called Bikesure to tell them I'll be waiting for my driving licence address changed they extended the deadline for 45 days to give me enough chance to get everything sorted. Just call them, they'll be reet.

Not all companies will invoke a cancellation (you are then expected to confirm this on future quotes), some will requote you on the basis you have 0 NCD and demand the additional premium (or then they will cancel).

Remember you have to disclose if you've had insurance cancelled and AFAIK it raises your premiums in future, I had this problem with my licence when I passed my rest, they requested a copy of it (why do bike insurers only do this? never had a car insurer give a shit) but the DVLA took 6 weeks to send it to me, ended up cancelling the insurance myself to prevent the insurer from doing it.
