i couldnt believe it yesterday coming come.

come to a roundabout, right hand lane as taking 3rd exit.

black laguna pulls up behind me, traffic clears to the right, i pull out, laguna follows.

next thing i know lagunas pulled over into left lane, sped around, cut infront of me just as im starting to pull off the roundabout nearly forcing me into a little island/divider thingy! had to hit the brakes.

annoying thing is, the laguna then sat that 20 on a 30 road for 5 minutes then pulled up on the ride of the road after braking harshly and threw the drivers door open without looking. again with the brakes and a swerve.

absolute dickhead. cant wait to get a helmet camera. if i had one i think i'd have copied the video onto a disk and given it to the cops.

oh, and just before i got to my mums i came across a lorry delivering to the local iceland. the loading lift of it blocked the turning into my mums so had to wait. i even got off. asked "how long you gunna be?" only another minute he said.

he left after i took a picture, gave my helmet to my mum and went and tore the store manager a new one. "they dont work for iceland" and "we're not responsible for how they park" the manager said. to which i replied "they are delivering goods to iceland therefore they are working for/on behalf of iceland and and as your the accepting store you are responsible for the truck!

heres a picture:

https://i46.tinypic.com/20jgnm.jpg

a cyclist had to dismount to get past the loading lift as wel

The person in the Laguna sounds like a cock. The truck however - I don't think that would have wound you up as much had the Laguna not been a cock Wink

was other way round actually, that truck was the first event.

Don't blame the truck for delivering, he no doubt hates that drop too but it has to be done.

road widens AND budgens has a loading bay which is "shared" but was empty. nothing wrong with him pulling forwards so traffic can get past, what if emergency services needed to get down there? completely blocked the road. NO excuse

as i said,

a cyclist had to dismount to get around the loading lift on the rear.

no chance a motorcycle was getting around it.

it looks like the lorry ends at that turning but it ended just past it. bad angle on the picture.

When someone does this sort of thing, I would sit as far back from them as possible, because if you don't...

... Next time it might not be a brake and swerve, it could be a "ran out of room, broke my bike and several bones". If I see a driver displaying poor judgement, I steer well clear and it's kept me out of bother on more than a few occasions.

As for the wagon, yeah, they can be cocks alright. I remember a lorry pulling up in stonebow (that's in York) and abandoning his wagon on the opposite side of the road. Due to the fact I was in a bendy bus, coupled with another bendy bus behind him, he hadn't left enogh room for either of us to get through and we blocked off the whole of stonebow. I tried to explain to him that he was causing an obstruction, but he told me to fuck-off as he walked away. Two of our inspectors came down to try and help us reverse etc (but gridlocked traffic in both directions meant that was a no go) and eventually the police had to be called to shift the guy. He got a fair rollocking off the bobby, much to my amusement.

A guy in a BMW decided to block my path today.

I sounded my horn, as you do... he gave me the finger. Already pissed off from a previous guy swerving into my lane I lifted my foot and rode past removing this fairly expensive cars wing mirror.

He didn't follow, also a car was going round a roundabout in the outside lane, should have come off but didn't... shouted that he should have used his indicators..

Was angry this morning... very angry. Thumbs Down

donny, the truck was blocking the gate into my mums yard, where i put the bike when im visiting. why is this so hard?

simple fact, lorry make a mistake, told iceland next time i'll report it.

i kept a fair distance from the laguna but rear drum brake = utter crap so with this in mind it was brake and swerve as the lagunas brakes worked much better than mine and i knew i could use the rear brake and swerve around him instead of front and rear brakes

Thumbs Up See, I love that you did this, but I can't help but think it would be sods law that if I did this, they would have got my reg and I'd have plod knocking at my door later. Has anyone on the forums ever had this happen? Read a few 'knocked wing mirror off' posts, just curious...

I think because you posted a rubbish pic of the problem. It shows the truck, but not the blockage itself, which i'm guessing is the gap visible over the truck on the right hand side of the pic?

LOL. would they actually fine you for going over a curb to get around a truck? when there is a single lane traffic circle and traffic backed I climb up on the pavement and ride around, use the gravel shoulder, go over lawns whatever. One time traffic was backed up but I couldnt see why, so took to the gravel. It was a police road block checking taxis. The cop jumped aside as I drove by showering him with gravel LOL.

What would a cop be doing on a small street like that? there is not even a coffee shop for them to be sitting in. And no cop car in sight. Does the UK still have police on foot, alone and unarmed?

uk foot police are usually in pairs, (well they're meant to be) for security and safety. we do have foot patrols but with cops getting lazier and lazier they're few and far between. we have a cop shop just a little further up the road behind where i was, but its usually got 1 officer and 1 desk jockey in it

I did it once. They cant get your number. Someone who kept trying to drive to the white line to close the gap. So once he came to a stop i lane split through and took his mirror. A BMW. I even flashed for him to open up and he could see others opening up to let bikes through. prick.

You do it while you are lane splitting. In a fraction of a second you are hidden behind the next car. Try get the number of a lane splitting bike. You cant.

The type of person that purposely tries to close a gap to block bikes is generally an older 40+ white man. Usually in a BMW or similar yuppie cage, or in a SUV or white toyota hilux.
