Maybe, it depends on what you have eaten, sleep you have had, what weight you are, all sorts........

To be honest.. from your posts.. I don't think 2 and a half pints is going to make much difference to your riding Laughing

Just kidding mate, honest Razz

It depends on firstly what you've been drinking, as stuff like Stella is stronger, but the guidelines is 1 hour per unit of alcohol you've drunk, so you've got a 5 hour wait so no riding till at least 1am.

Generally I'd say don't drink anything if you're planning on riding or driving. Fair enough you might be under the legal limit but you're still slightly less capable than you would be normally so you're just endangering yourself and also endangering the innocent people who are out as well, and how would it make you feel to have a crash then to learn that your bike slide and knocked an innocent person over and killed them just because you wanted to go on the bike after having a few drinks? Confused

If in doubt, don't ride it's not really worth the risk overall.

Yes, but your judgement will still be impaired from drinking earlier. I apply the 8 hour rule that pilots have. If they have been drinking then they do not fly for 8 hours after their last drink!

From a book I've been reading written by an airline pilot there are different rules to how much time you're meant to leave between drinking and flying. Some do have a rule of 24 hours, and I mean after drinking a fair bit after 8 hours you're still feeling drunk or hungover and not in any state to be operating a bike yet alone an airline!

Common sense should prevail and if you're in doubt don't do it as is it really worth the risk ask yourself that question.

24 hours bottle to throttle is the standard pilot thing, I believe.

Get a taxi, simple, why risk it.

I brought myself a breathaliser a while back for the morning after, worried driving to work the next day.

Get one. Cool

I defiantly wouldn't, as you're drunk enough now that you cannot type correctly and your level of typing ability has changed from your earlier post to that last post so don't even try to ride your bike. Neutral

Well to let you know, 2 pints spread over 4 hours hardly gets me drunk, infact not even tipsy, or even CLOSE to tipsy (and i doubt anyone else on here either!)...the reason I asked was because if the police use that breathe thingy on me, i don't want them to get me for drink driving, i did not for a second plan to go out if i was still under the influence, hence why i asked how long it would take to leave my system on here..if i didnt care about riding drunk, i wouldnt ask on here (not that at any single point i was drunk)

thats not a bitchy reply, just letting you know im not some drink driving c*nt with no regards for anyone else

All I was told was the only safe alcohol limit - is no alcohol at all.

Stay clear of shandy, mate, the only thing that comes close is Buckfast Tonic Wine.

When I used to work in a bar there was this builder who came in every weekday and had 10-12 pints of Bitter Shandy and drove home! He thought that because it was shandy it wasn't very alcoholic although he probably consumed 4-5 pints of bitter!
