As it stands if you passed your car test before 2001 you can ride a 50cc moped, without Ls, and take pillions. That's it.
To ride anything else, you'll need to take a CBT which will allow you to ride a 125cc (max 14.6bhp) motorbike with Ls, but no pillions, and no motorways.
Then, you can take a theory test, MOD1, and MOD2 and ride anything you want ____________________ Honda Goldwing GL 1000 Current love

I'd consider doing a CBT personally, its only a single day, doesn't cost much at all, and teaches you the bare basics of biking which will help you be a little safer at least.
Then you have the options of 125s to ride - 50cc's on UK roads are not fun |
