Hi sidewinder,

Thanks very much for the info & welcome. To answer your question, I have an 08 r6. Only been past 5 months & had the bike for 3. Taking things very easy, in fact that easy I haven't been over 8000 rpm yet haha!

I'm now waiting for confirmation for the forum.

Thanks again sidewinder

I know paddy,

My mates keep badgering me about it, I'm just a little cautious right now. I'm sure when I've hit it, there will be no looking back!

Quite right too - you pay them no attention and proceed at your own pace. Too many people get hurt trying to ride to someone else's capabilities.

Hi there.

Honest question: why get an R6, a bike that was famously (mis) advertised as having a high redline, if you weren't intending to give it a damn good thrashing?

Have you considered trying something like an ER6-f or SV650S instead?

Haha scaredycat!

Pete, I couldn't agree with you more.

To answer your question rogerborg (if that's what is was) 2 months after I passed, I researched constantly if getting a 600 supersports for a 'first timer' was the right thing to do 90% of people (the veterans mainly) told me I was stupid and would kill my self. Then I realised the bike will only go as fast as I want it to, don't get me wrong I'm no angel and will give it a bit extra on a clear straight.. But I'm not an idiot.

The second reason is if I bought a 250 or something like that i would get bored quickly, therefore extra cost & hassle.

You are in a new bikers forum! Ive noticed a 'fights and flame wars' which would be perfect for your maturity.

Eh?

Is there something wrong with the bike or is there something wrong with you?

And so you know, poor spelling and/or grammar isn't tolerated here!!
