As of this morning I was road legal on my AR125. Before I had been riding an MT50 which was took flat out (yes all 40mph of it) round most bends, roundabouts etc. However, on the 125 for some reason I seem to be a bit scared to take it round bends, even at the same speed I did on the 50. Possible reasons are a new front tyre and it was wettish this morning. I was just wondering if any else of you had the same prediciment when moving to a bigger bike? Hopefully in a month I will be back to my old self, but slowing down to first gear for turn ins is slower than I ever took. |

I had the same experience going from a 50 to a 125.
But after a few weeks, I was taking most corners at 50, where before I was at 30.
It gets easier the more you ride it/experience its "limits" ____________________ 04 Suzuki GSX-R 600 K4 - Sex on wheels :>

Yep, same with me when moving up the CC range, you twist the throttle back and it seems to yank you up the road bloody quick, it's better that your nervous when getting on a bigger bike as it means you are less likelly to end up stacking it. It a few days / weeks you'l be hanging off with the throttle wide open .

I'm currently in the same situation having gone from a 125 to a 600, but I'm working on it! It just takes a bit of time, a bit of experience ____________________ "The problem with the French is they have no word for 'entrepreneur' " George W Bush

Bigger bikes are easier to ride because they balence better, due to the width and the weight. You just have to watch your choice of gears because engine braking on a large bike is amazingly strong. On a 125 instead of engine braking you just get noise. |
