That was it on Saturday. Mucho lonely.

Great time with Lee, the Sutans and Mike though! Pitching Mike's tent in the dark steaming drunk was funny Laughing

So was the sight of Mike emerging, blinking into the sunlight this morning and crawling out of his wonky tent to throw up on the grass next to it. He exclaimed, "I must have drunk some bad water", then Grump reminded him about the Absinthe the night before.......

Sick

Benson did an awesome job of turning up late and leaving early.... Wink

“Gosh” said Sidney, “Aren’t we lucky to be allowed to have a proper grown up holiday.” “Yes” said Tracey “I never thought Uncle Hetzer and Auntie MCW would allow it. Not after the terrific adventure we had in August with all those hooligan fellows and motorcycles and fire and whatnot.”

“Well we won’t be quite by ourselves.” offered Groovy, “After all we will have Knobby popping out to keep his eye on us.”

“Oh, yes. Dear old Knobby” said Sid. “Isn’t his real name Mr Dick Head? And why is he always carrying that family-sized tub of Vaseline?”

After one last check of their equipment Sid and Groovy decided to check the camping gear too.

“Do you know?” said Sid “It’s as much fun planning a trip like this as actually having it. Have you got the gimp mask Groovy dear? And the golf ball? The harness? And the bungees? And the rope?”

Just then two electronic telemessages arrived.

It looks like it could be the Famous Three, not the Famous Five shouted Tracey, “G and Pyro can’t make it after all, and HT is staying to wash his hair.”

“Cor Lummee.” said Sid “Never mind chaps We’ll have a wizard time whatever happens. And you never know, there might be loads of others there when we arrive. After all what type of plonker would you have to be to miss out on a ripping trip like this? I bet we’ll have trouble finding space to pitch our tent there‘ll be so many like-minded fellows there. And don't forget I've got my spiffing sausage(s) to tempt them all”

Later that night after arriving in a big, empty, scary field, the Famous Three looked deep into the flames of the blazing firepit. Groovy who’d imbibed at least 18 cans of something called Stella having misunderstood the offer of lashings of ginger beer, muttered some sort of incantation.

At that very moment through the flames they saw a shadowy figure approaching.

“Holy shit, it’s the Lord of Darkness .” whispered Tracey

“All roight.” said the Lord of Darkness, “Benson here. I’ve got wood.”

A jolly bash ensued, burning Benson’s planks followed by two rounds of Canasta and a hand of whist. The evening's fun only ended when Benson disappeared (as quickly as he had arrived) either on important secret business or more probably because his wood had disappeared.

The following night was just as much fun. Two more boys joined the gang, Grumpy and M1ke. Grumpy was a spiffing fellow although he found he was rather partial to Tracey’s donuts, even when they were moist after being left outside all night. M1ke turned out to be one of those hippy chaps who rode his bike to the toilet block barefoot.

M1ke was quite poorly on the last day. He thought that some smugglers or robbers had poisoned the water supply but it turned out he’d just swallowed a green fairy.

So, an absolutely spiffing time was had by all and one by one they happily set off home on Sunday morning leaving Knobby in the far corner of the site sadly stroking his enormous tub of Vaseline.

The End

Very Happy

Apologies to Mrs Blyton

Quite a select gathering, that!

Can't believe how lucky you guys have been with the weather. If it's been anything like up here, down there in Peterborough. Yesterday was especially glorious. Wished I'd gone to BCFBBQ #2 now, but I forgot all about it.

How about a number 3 first week of February? Mr. Green

What's wrong with October, November, December or January? Smile

I was thinking February would be more likely to have atrocious weather, making for more challenging conditions. But I suppose January can be pretty shitty too.

What a weekend! I wasn't sure the bike was going to be ready for the 130 mile trek to Peterborough but fortunatly it was.

I feel like complete crap today, damn that dodgy water Wink

To top off a great trip I bumped into some local greenlaners at a petrol station just outside Peterborough who suggested I tag on to check out some of the local off piste... Not wanting to decline the opportunity of a guided tour I decided despite the heavy luggage it was worth a few hours of my time Razz

I didn't get home until 7pm last night (8 hours riding!) Aching like a biatch today and the bike has a few more battle scars!

It was great to meet you all, will set aside the weekend next year for v3 Thumbs Up

Friday evening is a no-go too. Got Dad stuff to do..... so that leaves Sunday...6hrs there n back. Thinking

Not going, have fun. Middle Finger

[Memo]

Being sympathetic to a drunken heartbroken friend is not better than sitting in a field.

Dad stuff should be sidetracked once in a while by sitting in a field.

I would've been the fastest to ride up that track....Then sit in a field.
