Did you see the WSBK round at Silverstone. No, well neither did anyone else. There was about 12 people in the stands.

If the BBC are smart they will buy the rights to WSBK when it comes up in 2015.

Far more British interest than MotoGP, and closer racing.

There all going to moto GP, it's obvious. The GP machines sell bikes. It's weird because last year WSBK was better than GP but this year it's been flipped on its head. I can't really see the superbike class surviving. BSB will but I think worlds is doomed!

Change every global Superbike series to BSB/Evo rules, allowing a progression from national series to WSB > make WSB A true stepping stone to GP.

Without national Moto3/2 series the only viable option to get into GP is the Spanish championship. Hopefully, though its unlikely, Dorna and the FIM will look to harmonise things to make moving between series easier.

Attendance was just under 30,000 on the Sunday which is pretty poor considering it's an annual international event, most premier league football matches get that and they are weekly and local events.
Silverstone is a dull track imo.
It's too big and featureless, weather is always really windy as it's so flat and it holds about 150,000 which makes even the Moto GP look empty as everybody packs into a few grandstands.
I wish they could move it back to Brands Hatch a proper circuit with character. It might not have thousands of grandstand seats but thats what made it good with everybody lined along the edge of the track.

Bet the attendance at Oulton Park for the BSB at the weekend was better than that! Seemed pretty busy when I was there.

There is a bit about it the attendance on motomatters
https://motomatters.com/results/2013/08/04/2013_silverstone_world_superbike_sunday_.html (and in the comments)

Seems I was wrong and the attendance for the whole weekend was just 28,000 which is pretty shocking really.
I wonder if next year with MotoGP not being on BBC or Eurosport if that will make much difference. I don't have the time to follow all 3 championships but as I'll be unable to watch MotoGP I'll probably follow WSBK. The races that I have seen this year have actually been pretty good. It just seems to be that there is a lack of young exciting riders and just the same ones seat swapping for the last few years.

I think what it badly needs is for all the manufacturers to be back in, if that happens you get more riders getting factory rides and loads of teams fighting for the title.

Imagine if you had Ducati, BMW, Aprilia, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki all with factory teams in there!
