Short story, but a very sweet one.

Oil needed changing on the front forks, but whilst I'm at it, I'll repaint them, too.

2 cans of Peugeot silver colour
1 can of primer
1 can of lacquer

All came to £15 from the local Asian automotive store.

Get that bastard wheel off

You can just about see the horrific paint scheme on the fork lower. The old oil was a nice blodgy silver colour and had a fantastic odor of fish...

Added the Nitromore paint stripper, sanded the leg down, then got priming. The Stella allowed us to fuck up the lacquer stage by maliciously spraying it to death. Soon sorted that out with an emergency coat of silver.

Nice and silver

Looks ten times better than before! Fork protectors on order so should stop the road crud blowing out the seals.

Not bad for a rattle can job, eh?

4% Stella Tut Tut

It's a travesty that they keep playing with 'normal' Stella and you loons encourage them by buying the 4% stuff! Wink

Thumbs Up

How long did it take after removing the wheel?

Been sort of tempted to try this myself but may try Autosol first as my forks are looking a bit beaten Rolling Eyes

Well that's what I said at first, but I did this round my friend's house. He had thousands in the fridge, so, yeah. Beer o'clock every hour.

iMark, it took next to nothing to get the wheel off. Getting the bike propped up against the wood was an arse but we got there in the end.

Ideally, the primer should have been left for longer before painting it, but I didn't really have time.

EDIT: read your post wrong, the stella is still in me! It only took about 1 night to do it

Look better don't they? Certainly gives you the satisfaction that you made the bike look that little bit better Laughing

Aye, Much better.. Actually prefer the radiator guards less of a shiny metal and painted, will see how they look in the morning when the suns out... I still have another can of Hammerite if they need another coat to even it out a bit better Thumbs Up
