OK, rest of the photo's from the Do I spotted the Twin Turbo 1200, for those interested.
Was only a few miles from Snowie & I, just outside Coventry, and is the second running of the event, a 'Ride'em in custom & Classic meet/show, with bands. Held at the Horse & Jokey Pup, Corely, this was the second year they have hosted the event.

Snowie & I trundled over 2up on 'The Pup'... what the heck, it was all 50mph or slower roads all the way there!

Hard-Tail Harley & A kit-Chop

These were the ones that stood out... sorry, but the older I get, the more chops I see, the more that I am confirmed in my prejudice that, to call them a 'custom' is an oxymoron... HOW do these things express the 'individuality' of the owner, when they are all trying to conform to the same sterio-typical pre-conceptions of what a 'chopper' should be?

But my despondency was lifted;

Far better represented than I expected were some VERY nice 'Old-Skool' 'Chops', like this, I think Triumph T110.

https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/1185485_649812251710362_2099235421_n.jpg
I think this hard-tail may be a T110 as well...

Well... it's got twin carbs & A pre-unit engine. Nice grider forks too.

This Gun-Smith engraving detail was on the engine cases, of an '80's build GS1000 hard-tail. Unrestored since it won show award at an early Bull-Dog-Bash.

It was a wonderful antithesis to the modern 'show' bikes, built purely for the concourse, pandering to fashion, and not built to last. Thirty odd years on, and the 'patina' just ADDS to the overall asthetic; It's not to my taste, but I found it utterly 'charming'.

https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/1234722_649811568377097_1213390986_n.jpg

Going 'Old-Skool'? This might not have been the best custom there; but? I LIKED this Hard-Tail Divvy. Its what a chop SHOULD be like. Take one tired old hack, run of the mill motorcycle, and on limited budget, just DO it. Not for the show, not for the go, but simply for the heck of it! And I think it does its owner proud.

Back to some Trumpets.

This sweet T140 came out of the Worker's Co-Op, in 1979, barely five miles down the road from the venue. Not the most desirable of Bonneville, but a very nice practical classic all the same.

https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/7858_649811865043734_1958579261_n.jpg
I cant remember what the model designation of this one was. It was the 'poor mans' Hurricane X75; a US market only variant of the T120 I think.

Slightly less practical.....

I think some-one must have stolen this from the British-Motorcycle-Museum, again, barely eight miles down the road!

I stand to be corrected, but I believe that this is probably a 1938 Triumph 500 'Speed-Twin'
https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc1/1148866_649811538377100_218070293_n.jpg
The bike that was evolved to become the immortal Bonneville, and lead to the parallel twin becoming the Epitome of the Brit-Bike, as the 45 degree V-Twin is the American Motorcycle

And close up detail of the tank console.

This Trumpet Bobber, in front of the band, was ridden to show, to win a prize.

And probably photo of the set for me, here, posed in the concourse with 'best classic' 650 Ariel.

Meanwhile, while this rather deliciouse Guzzi T3 was catching my eye....

https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/1186221_649811795043741_127642608_n.jpg

Some-one was taking an interest in 'the Pup'... he introduced himself as 'Dave'... but then so did every-one else we spoke to there?!?!?!?!?!? And it Turned out he was a Guzzi Nut! Oh Dear!

Built from a donor California and a life-times accumulated 'spares'!

Street-fightered TL1000 or SV1000? Think its an SV. I cant remember. Did chat to the owner last time I saw it at the Kingswood, but cant remember!

So, there you go. £3 on the gate to get in, reasonably priced bee,r a nice grass-roots event; with freindly folk, (seemingly all called 'Dave'!), bikes you could really get to look at, not corralled or roped off; and owners you could talk to about them; half decent music.. when 'four floors of hoars' weren't tuning up over the top of the CD! And it didn't rain! A good day out.

Hey, even some of them mad scooteristi turned up!
