So i went to buy a ZZR600d... something cheap and cheerful. Great condition, really looked after, and the guy threw in a box full of parts including a set of forks, tank, swingarm and electrics etc etc.

Now i know exactly what you lot are going to say, but i wanted something mental, and a ZZR600 isn't exactly that.

This is how i picked it up

And the chopping begins. Put a fireblade tail unit on

Chopped the fairing

I call her Chantelle, because she's a cheap, ugly ride with a fat ass.

Cheers,

Dunc

Personally, thought it looked better before.

And why didn't you buy a bike in bad condition (scratched/cracked plastics and rusted etc) but mechanically sound if u were gonna rat it, instead of ruining good condition plastics?

Not having a go... just curious, surely you would of saved more money that way?

Laughing

I've got the money so wasn't bothered about it being cheap. That's the point in a rat though. It looks shit, but it looks so shit, it actually looks good...

I was wanting a cheap bike I don't care much about, so I can spend money on my fireblade while still having a bike to run about on.

It's not really a rat though, it looks like it has been crashed and then attacked with a can of matte black spray paint.

Just so you know, the bandit tails are a direct fit (plastics) aslong as you remove the plate holder.

also a vfr cowl aswell i think.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

It's one of those 'I've got some spare cash, I'm gonna go buy a minter of a bike and destroy it' kinda things.

Each to their own, and all that.

Why did you do that to it then? Thats not a rat, you've just put on a tail unit that doesn't look like it fits and painted it black.

As you say, each to their own and all that Laughing

No, no, your advice was appreciated, but I've already chopped up the subframe so it'll no longer be a direct fit haha.

The fireblade tail is fine, it fits fine so ill just keep that on it. Might put the one from my blade on it, as I've just bought a Ducati 916 tail for it Mr. Green
