Just got back from a two week tour to Hungary where I mostly stayed with friends, camped and used hostels.

I've got two weeks off in November and am thinking about going to Spain.

Away from the cost it might be too cold to camp, so I was thinking about cheap hotels and private rooms.

Can anyone whos been give me a rough estimate on accommodation prices?

Also what sort of weather can I expect both inland, and on the coast in mid November?

The hotels that we used came in around €60-80 for 1 night and 3 people/beds. That wasn't searching around for the cheapest one, just randomly walking in and asking the price.

No idea about the weather in November, but it got quite cold overnight in the summer. The day was hot though and you could happily be in your t-shirt and shorts until 11-12pm.

As above, when I went asking prices, hotel on one side of the road was 61 euros.

Other side was 159.

Depends how ghetto you fancy it. Personally a room with 2 mates was perfectly fine for me. I did not mind paying for us to stay close together, if anything I preferred it.

We stayed at various camp sites, one for 45 euros for a 3 for 3 nights. one was 45 euros per person for 3 nights... so camp sites I'd say 15 a night Laughing For hotels double it, minimum. You can find cheap deals, sure we used booking.com when in Andorra and surrounded by weather that was less than pleasant in July... Wink

I toured northern Spain in July https://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=347259

It was pretty cheap compared to the rest of Western Europe. Hotels ranged from about 42 Euros for Ibis/Mecure hotels to 83 Euros for a proper five star hotel in Santiago

October - November is "temporada baja" or "low season" regarding tourism, so it is worthy checking normal channels when looking for a hotel. This here are for Bilbao clicky ,some known hotels for a really good price. Every hotel does promotions to help cope with the low season, so it is worthy to plan a bit the trip and book in advance. You can always call telling them you will be checking in late.

Weather wise depends location, the more south and close to the Mediterranean, the milder the weather. It is cold but apart from the North Coast not as rainy as England. Watch out for snow if you go up mountains.

Told by some locals to expect around 20+ degrees on the coast during the day.

I was in Barcelona in Janurary and that 13-15c yet felt warm enough to walk around in a thin top during the day.

I'm not worried about a bit of weather though.

The cost of hotels is worrying for someone who's used to camping. On a 14 day trip they add up to a fair amount. Booking online in advance brings the price down a little but then I don't know where I'm going to be.

Wild camping is not permitted in Spain mostly because of the fires, but discreet tent, off the road and the usual plant the tent late, get up early works very well. Some places private owners will allow you to do so if you ask too. Campings tend to be more cheaper but no idea how much, I always done wild camping or hotels.

Wild camping is fine... in a fair few regions in fact. South is pretty much a no go, but north and north east are fine with it.

Try airbnb https://www.airbnb.co.uk/ where rooms can be had for as little as €16 or couch surfing
