Finally....

All it took was parking outside the pub, downing several pints (of coke), putting on a bit of a stagger back to the bike and riding off (making sure to stumble slightly at the lights).

To be honest I didn't think I would have made it to the traffic lights 50 yards away, but they decided to stop me over a mile later on the dual carriageway.

As soon as the lights went on I indicated, pulled in, switched off and took my lid off.... since he couldn't smell any booze he didn't breathalyse me... everything else checked out so about 5 minutes later I was on my way.

Strangely he was a biker himself... as they all are Rolling Eyes

This.

And just buy an enduro / supermoto if you want the police to pull you over all the time. Laughing

They love pulling me over for random stop checks. One even asked why I was going so "slow" I was doing 30mph in a 30 zone... Laughing

When I read 'first tug on the bike' that was not what I was expecting this to be about.

It just wipes off, if you're wondering, but it's a bit awkward if it gets down the edge of the fuel-filler cap.
