The specification between the two is not the same.
A SD (i.e. SDSC) compatible device is not guaranteed to support SDHC cards, however this is a firmware issue rather than a hardware issue.
On the other hand, devices designed to support SDHC must also support SDSC.
So OP, really it will depend on the firmware of your device. This chart suggests that your device can and will accept a SDHC card:

Low level format the card and put it into the Dictaphone raw, your Dictaphone will hopefully recognise and format the card itself, if it doesn't then try a standard format with widows etc.
Formatting normally just marks the drive as empty leaving the data still there until that part is overwritten, but a low level format will write zeros across the drive as it would have been from the factory
https://hddguru.com/software/HDD-LLF-Low-Level-Format-Tool/
These types of tools shouldn't be used (unless they are designed for) ssd's as an ssd flash memory uses one's to represent an empty state for it's memory cell and uses zero's to repisent full, so writing zeros to a complete drive will shorten it's life as all the cells will need to be reset.
This is the same reason you shouldn't use ccleaners wipe free space function on an ssd (some would argue not to use ccleaner at all as it write zero as an erase). ____________________ hellkat wrote:
