I'm running a 3.00-19 TT upfront, the recommended pressure is 29psi. I inflate with a footpump until the built-in gauge reads just over 30 and then fine adjust using the bleed valve on my accurate gauge. Overnight (or after a ride and left to cool, usually overnight) I might lose 0.5psi. Not a problem in itself, but if I leave the bike whilst I'm away for any length of time I'll find the front tyre at about 25psi, never any less. It's only a few stomps of the pump to inflate as it's quite a low volume tyre. The rear loses about 1psi a month, if that, and that's partly from air lost through checking the pressure every time I ride, this is about what I'd expect.

Does this sound like a faulty valve, a slow puncture, or just a paranoid with a pressure gauge? Should I get the tyre/valve/tube checked or my head?

Same here w/ my front. Don't think it's my valve though as a bit of gob on the valve doesn't bubble. *shrugs*

I just over-inflate to a bit harder than pilly pressures (mrs is on the back sometimes anyway), then check the psi about once a week. Over a fortnight it'll lose about 5psi. If I let it.

I had the same problem, in the end I got the bike shop to look at it, they found a single strand of wire like the stuff that makes up an electrical cable had punctured it. With hindsight I could probably have fixed it by squirting some tyre weld in.
