I still haven't had contact from the police regarding who the driver was who drove into the back of my motorbike the other week, or his insurance details. I will get them eventually (I hope), but I was just thinking if there were any time restrictions on making a claim? I've done all I can (report to the police, inform my insurance company etc etc), so surely if it takes another month to get his details I can still put a claim forward?

Cheers

Sure, civil limit is six years, or three for personal injury.

Unless you've made a comprehensive claim against your own policy though, your insurer won't be interested. Have they palmed it off to a claims management firm? If not (or even if they have) you can always choose your own one.

Worst case, you can request the keeper details from the DVLA yourself.

I'll be choosing my own solicitor to chase him up, good to know I don't need to panic about time limits etc, cheers Rog Thumbs Up .
