Hey all.

I'm looking at buying a few different bikes, most of which have an analog speedometer. There's a problem with this.

I'm old.

Sometimes I have a tough time discerning which line is which when I glance quickly at the speedo. I've googled 'digital speedometer' but I got buried under an avalanche of results. All I want is a 3 digit readout of my speed that doesn't cost a fortune

Thanks (That's American for 'cheers')

Koso do some nice gauges, which aren't horrendously expensive.

Danmoto also make a good price, quite nice looking, digital gauge:

try placing "areas" on the speedo glass for your local speed resitrictions, like a an orange section for 30mph, red for 70mph etc etc etc ....as long as you aint colour blind ( if you are choose a colour that means summut to you )

an analog face is much easier to "read" than a digital, meaning less time not looking at the road...........etc.

a quick scan..........but get used to engine noise at set speeds in set gears so not looking at the road less.......may be safer for you, us and them.

Ah sorry, I should have been more specific. My fireblade's speedo goes to 300 Rolling Eyes so 30-40-50 is quite low and close together. Where I live, it goes mostly between those 3 speed limits. At night I tend to slowly creep up in speed, but the speeding tickets are oppressively high in those zones and they'll ding you for 5 over. It's a good source of income, i suppose. I also do a fair amount of highway riding at night, sometimes for a few hours per jaunt. I was just thinking that a little lit up LED display would make it easier. Either that or maybe I just need to replace the speedo bulb with a spotlight... or a rave style strobe light... that'd be fun. Razz

:D stobe light sounds fun :D

a display which lights up at a set speed which you could select..........

seen and understood as that speed.......

so no eyes off the road......low corner vision .....

but if your happy with what you want then go for it.......saves fines!

would it be good for cars etc to have a "back off" or similar rearward display for that fog crash the other day, bikers involved so one victim said!!
