The A537 is a cracking road, a few of us BCFers had a rideout yesteray on it.

Its also the most dangerous road in the UK, its had more deaths than any other road, but the bends are great and the scenery is spectacular, And Hopefully a few of us are doing it again next weekend! Smile

A537 Thumbs Up

Commonly called the Cat & Fiddle. Also, the A54, Buxton -> Congleton and the A53 Buxton -> Leek. Both of these are alson in the top 10 most dangerous roads.

The A44, a bit of it called Fish Hill. It's in the midlands near a town called Evsham (I believe that's it's name), and it's easy to tell when you're there are its a nice big wide wide which is twisty corner after twisty corner with plently of chance to be going very fast and enjoying the ride. If you do go, have a run first to check for police as it's very popular with them as well Laughing .

I don't know any good roads so this will be an interesting thread. The worse road is the one I use everyday - the North Circular Road in London!

I go from Henlys Corner, Finchley to Chiswick Roundabout everyday, a distance of 10 miles in the rush hour. Usually 6 miles of it are filtering, used by lorries, vans, buses, twats on mobile phones, mothers in 4x4's doing the school run, foreign drivers who pick up rental cars at Heathrow probably driving on the left for the first time - they are all there! It is really dangerous for bikes.

hertfordshire has plenty to offer if you wanna look for it, and plan petrol stops well

anywhere between watford, north as far as milton keynes, and west as far as oxford, you cant miss decent surfaced twisty roads with plenty of national speed limit sections

The entire length of the A82 in Scotland, runs effectively from Glasgow all the way to Fort William I think, passing lochside at Loch Lomond for one - the most gorgeous road out there, combining nadgery twisties with flat out between-the-mountains runs - mmm-MM the best

With you on that one. I've only biked it once - rushing to some company on business. Had to drive it once and god was I pissed off!

My local twisties are the Nottingham - Melton Mowray - Stamford roads. Good fun. Lots of those "To Die For?" signs up...

So come out with us on Sunday!

I don't know any good roads around here. I wish I could ride my bike back home around Dundee where I know where I am going. Confused

I like the B2026 as part of a run between London and Brighton, especially the bit where it crosses the Downs. Very Happy

(I also think it's great that, in Brighton, bikes get to park free right on the seafront).

Sounds like a plan for the next Scottish rideout. I haven't actually done it on the bike but I have in the car plenty of times. Didn't even notice that it was a good road as the car was generally not even slightly fast. We should make a day of it, maybe a few of you from England could even come up.

Only really good roads I've came across are the ones from stirling through callendar and lochearn. The north road along side lochearn is particularly a good bit of road albeit only small. Any of the guys from the last Scottish rideout remember where that massive stretch of open road was? Where Ritchie (True Blue) rocketed over the horizon. That was fun too.

Scottish roads in general. Thumbs Up
