Look like a DT engine in a YZ frame.

yer dtr engine in a yz frame and yer shes road legal still loads of work till shes done but im getting there

You found a road legal YZ and put the weaker DT engine in there?

I think this build is usually done the other way, where you get a road legal dtr and register a chassis number change.

The same conversion can be done with the kx/ kmx.

You have to see it as improving a dtr/kmx rather than crippling a yz/kx.

It is a very common project For enduro/ woods and trail riders.

Most use the dtr/wr200 or kmx200 engines though.

yes prawny1 you hit the nail on the head its registered as a dtr ,I wanted a more modern lightweight greenlaner with reliability but I am looking at using a Athena 170 kit eventually. I got the inspiration from someone who done a similar build but with the wr/dtr 200 engine but there rare as rocking horse shit haha

I think it's a good idea, YZ suspension and lightweight. BUt the reliabiltiy of a dt engine, which isn't that shabby, my mate got his dynoed at 25.7HP at the rear wheel, but he'd done lots of stuff to it, big bore kit etc, a YZ is about 36bhp?

yer im building it for myself not for resale so I do intend on kit it out as much as possible and my old dtr kept me happy whilst greenlaning so she should keep a smile on my face ,im just focused on getting it all sweet then im going to start tuning the engine....I will post some more pictures on the weekend
