I am officially 40 at 0002 on 19/09, and to celebrate, I've decided to fuck everyone and do something I want to do.... I hinted at doing one when I got my licence back (which the DVLA are still holding on to) in January... but figured it would be more.... memorable.... at this point in life.

Now, strangely I'm not looking for advice, donations or anything really.... well apart from how much of a mug I'm being, since I've done nothing to my VFR apart from oil my chain a couple of times since I've owned it, I'll be carrying no tools and have recovery of 10 miles from home Rolling Eyes

I've set aside a budget of £250 for petrol (but that is flexable +£100), and the only things that need to be in there are:

Ride out on Sunday 15/09 (in SW forum)
.
Visit to family and friends in Glasgow
.
BBQ in Peterborough 04/06.

It was suggested that since the weather could be an issue I should see how many sofas I can hijack in the time... but I might save that one for next year.

I'm not going to plan any route.... other than heading for Plymouth on Sunday.... then maybe towards London and fuck knows before, during and after... I'll be using no GPS or maps and I'll end up wherever.

Would be nice to say 'hello' to as many BCF'ers as possible though.

So... what the fuck is there to see on a tour of the UK? I've always just driven through/round cities.

Also, since I've never done anything like this.... (although I seen a thread a good long while ago about pitching then drinking to avoid being moved on).... if I find somewhere I deem suitable for a tent and camp fire..... after a few drinks, can I be moved on?

Well if you head up to the North East at any point, there is a bed here (well more a mattress) if you want it.

Thumbs Up

Sounds like a good plan. If you're in Birmingham & want a cuppa then drop by.

What's up Bazza? Having a bad few days? You've been really unpleasant in your last few posts. Wanna tell us about whats bothering you?

If not just try and play nicely.

I'll just go ahead and assume you're too dim to make the connection between the MC in MCW and the OP's age.

Try not to burst into tears when you find out I'm just about to call you a dripping flange, OK?

She's a Master Cylinder? Master of Ceremonies? Massive Cu... never mind.

Anyway, decided to have a go at sorting through stuff I'll (may) be taking:

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v320/andy36586/Stuff_zpsa850e9fd.jpg

So far: tent, sleeping bag, pots and stove, axe, knives, small torch (battery, small torch (wind up), butchered USB charger, 2 heavy jumpers, 2 pairs of heavy socks, 5 pairs of jeans, 10 t-shirts, 10 pairs of boxers, 10 pairs of socks, 2 hoodies and 1 towel.... oh and a bag of kindling

Anything I can do away with or anything else I need to take?

I wouldn't be taking so many clothes. Pair + spare = job jobbed.

Forget the Ray Mears stuff, unless you're actually intending to build shelters. For firewood, you should be using dead wood anyway.

Knife should be a folding pocket knife with a cutting edge not exceeding 75mm.

Far too many clothes. Go with what you're wearing, visit Primark as needed. Heck, you can get underwear in Tescos.

But it will be dead... eventually

I thought it might have been a bit of overkill on the clothes...
