What I want to know is, if a plane hits it, both will collapse?

Many, many years ago i stood on top of the one with the outside bit on the roof and still have my ticket. . .along with a leaf from central park, my chips napkin from the statue of liberty, a sweatshirt i bought from a bloke with a sports bag on the street in Wall Street, a receipt from McDonalds on Broadway (which had a maitre d' and a grand piano in it) and a beer label from a meal in chinatown. It was a super-skint now-or-never type holiday Very Happy

It was awesomely massive to stand on and indeed the amount of people underneath me at the time was mind-boggling. Even with that minor, piffling 'involvement' i sometimes catch myself looking at the whole grief-extravaganza every year.

Not sure where i'm going with this, but maybe it's that flippant smiling at the jenga thing is the better than the annual palaver of 'respect'.

i should stop trying to be clever, i can't quite pull it off Mr. Green

It's in South Korea somewhere, I believe. Only went up recently. Any similarity to actual persons or places alive or dead is, I'm assured, entirely coincidental.

Edit: I believe wrong. Picture is an artist's impression. The building is still at the planning stage.

Many comments online about that.

From what I gather it's still a design (reports from December 2011).
Apparently designed by a Dutch outfit.

This from Huffington Post

Fuck that, do it anyway.

Thats like saying any tall, unfancy building reminds them of one of the twin towers. Fuckin' ridiculous.

It would be a very, very cool way to connect two buildings. It's achievements of humans like building higher and taller and weirder that remind us that we can be and do better than we are etc.

A plaque on the side saying "America....Sorry." would suffice.

There should be a 10 year limit on ostentatious outpourings of grief. Beyond that, it's just showbiz.

Architects are a bunch of morons. It's all about who can design the most ridiculous building these days.

Saw a house in Aus that looked a bit like this except not raised off the ground:
(Posting as link because the picture is very big)

We get it, you're different. Just like everybody else.

On topic, Huffington post needs to stop whinging and being upset/offended at stuff. Nobody else seems to care.

Those cube houses are in Rotterdam, not Australia. Just next to Blaak metro station.

Edit: Oh I see - you mean like them, not exactly them.

Since we're OT, my favourite bit of Architecture is this awesomeness:

It was showbiz on Day 1. Sadly the 7 countries in 7 episodes didn't quite work out due to poor ratings. It looks like they're making Season 2 as we speak. Angelina Jolie's got a part in the first episode where they get to finish off that dastardly villain Syria and she adopts some more brown kids.

There's then likely to be a big attention grabbing event involving buildings, planes, boats, nukes, and more plot holes and inconsistencies than the first Season. Most viewers won't be bothered as long as they can wave some flags and cry some crocodile tears like they pretend to care, and we get to invade some countries and blow shit up. The video game tie in should be immense and will sell loads.

A script writer from Lost suggested using a polar bears, but I think they've vetoed it as pushing the story beyond credulity until they can cook up a story of fundamentalist jihadi cells in the Arctic. We may then see a suicide squad of Penguins, as Pentagram studios know the majority of the viewers don't know the difference between two ice caps, and they'll be a good selling point for the kids. Disney are thinking of doing a tie in musical semi-animated movie where the Penguins kidnap Miley Cyrus and then do a penguin show on ice.

I think the season will have a good Iran invasion and then maybe end with a massive confrontation with Russia and China. If they really push the stops out on that one we probably won't be around to see the Third Season.

It's that time of year again when the american people pause in quiet reflection as they decide who to bomb the shit out of next.

Does this mean the Tv is going to be flooded with repeated programmes all saying the same thing for the next two weeks.

Oh how times have changed. Nowadays she would be twerking the shit out of those penguins on stage whilst dildoing herself with an inflatable World Trade Center.

God bless our Al Qaeda allies... but only the ones fighting for natural gas pipelines and the interests of Zionism democracy in Syria. God please send the ones in Afghanistan and Yemen to hell, or at least some bus tickets to Damascus Wink
