So.. been looking at a tail pack, because my back ends up killing me at the weekends before work as I'm needing to carry a largish jacket and a pair of boots. Yes I know it may not seem heavy but the bulk makes it quite annoying and because I leave for work at 10 at night and arrive back home around 4, Its dark as f*ck and would prefer if people could see my flekky jacket.

So anyone got any packs they like or any solutions to this ( other than quit my job)?.

Any. I just got some Viper branded bag for £9.40 or so delivered, it's just a bag with bungees threaded through it, works OK. No need to brand it up.

Not sure if this would work but,

Use my backpack and wrap a few bungees over it and under the pillion seat, not sure if it would come loose or would stay.

Agree, I have a Lomo backpack which I rarely wear, but I do strap it on my rack with bungees.

I've had a few cheap tank bags that were very good. Think one was Oxford, can't remember the the brand.

Shame is now I have a plastic "dummy" tank so can't use the magnetic tank bags.

I have a little Kriega tail pack now. It's easy to fit and quick to attach and detach. It's also water proof which is nice when you have clothes or electronics to move about. One other nice feature is that I can clip it to my Kriega backpack when I'm off the bike to ease carrying or increase capacity.

I think tank bags are better though. Mine had a clear pocket on the top that I could put maps or my GPS/Phone in. I could also put a water bottle in the side for easy access. In the winter it also felt like it took a bit of wind blast off me.

if im ever strapping anything to my bike, i just put some double d ring straps around it. holds packages and anything really.

However im not sure why your back hurts with a backpack. i rode all the way to holland with my backpack full of stuff at about 25-30kg. only thing that was sore was my arse. maybe you just need a proper backpack.

Kriega anything are amazing. tailpacks too. pricey though.

I got some Oxford panniers dirt cheap off eBay, that could be an option.

Sadly they didn't come with instructions, and by the time I found out you have to take the seat off to fit and remove them (a serious undertaking on this bike because of the bloody awful siting of the seat bolts) it was too late to send 'em back Very Happy
