So I was driving my car (I know) to ASDAs in Morley, came up towards a roundabout and saw this motorcross helmet flying across the round about, to turn right.

First thing I thought, I wonder what bike that is, thinking I'd see a sumo underneath him, then I thought if that's a scooter he's way too fast for this wet roundabout.

Then crunnnccchhhhhhh as his rear castor wheel wanted to race his front castor around that corner. Down he went.

L Plated 16 year old. I pull over to go help him, then the police patrol car stops with his sirens on, seen him go down and go to help him pick up his bits of plastic.

Yeah, a very NON story, like everything I read on bbc.co.uk.

Silly chav. Worst thing was he was wearing a Leeds Rhinos jacket ... now more people will think us Rhinos fans are chavs. I WEAR A LEEDS RHINOS JACKET WHILE ON THE BIKE

I would have gone to help too even for a chav. Saw a lad last winter on a new 125 race up the road and just knew the outcome. Helped him pick up the pieces, made sure all was ok, gave a patronising mini lecture, told him about BCF, then went on my way.

Doesn't make much sense, sorry. Trying to say he was a chavvy lad on a ped, everyone knows that. He was wearing a Leeds Rhinos jacket so some people might now associate chav and rhinos. I wear a rhinos jacket so I don't want people to think I'm a chav

Err, I'm a fan of watching big blokes duke it out with each other as much as the next guy, but I think you lost Rugby League to chavs a long while back.

About two weeks ago I heard laughing and shouting outside my flat, so I looked out the window and there was a group of youths all around this moped revving it and stuff and then this fat girl plonked herself on it, no safety gear or helmet and started revving it.

I knew exactly what was going to happen so took a pew and watched out my window, she's full throttled it off, went to go around an island about 30 yards down the road went straight over it crashed into a tree and started crying.

It was the single most hilarious thing I have ever seen in my life.

I assumed you meant bouncing along the road - it started so promisingly.

Still not as bad as football at least. Rugby - Thugs game played by gentlemen (not including Delaney or Morley)
Football - gentleman's game played by thugs

Rugby League died the day they decided to give the teams stupid names, I mean WTF do rhinos have to do with Leeds? maybe if they were called Leeds Fat Transvestites out Clubbing then it might bring forth a more accurate mental image of Leeds life. Or Leeds Dead Celebrity DJ Pedos?

Good on you for stopping Thumbs Up

I think a lot of us have either been there or in similar stages of ignorance to biking one time or another.

Unless theyre riding with an aim to suicide i tend to give most peds a nod. And even the stereotypical tracksuit n hoodie lads are normally really chatty and decent at lights, dont like to judge them too much, was there in my younger years myself Laughing

Hating 'chavs on peds' is no different to some drivers hating 'bloody bikers' really, judgemental stereotypes Wink

Well see, here's the thing. Lads on scooters will often give an uninitiated nod. Riders of GS1200RRs seldom even return one. The latter I want to gob on and kick, hard. The former I don't.

He was from Leeds man...

I would have reversed over the cnut in a Steam Roller. Twisted Evil

Well really I would have stopped.

Another thing, even if you see loads of folk at an accident never assume all is OK. Not everyone who stops can help.
If you have any first aid training/ability you are within your rights to stop and offer help.
I drove past an RTA last year but saw 'every fcuker and their dogs were stopped' so drove on. The thing is the poor biker was killed instantly but I could never tell if there was a first aider there from the looking through my car window.

I think to be social one should stop and offer help.
