Finding I can't use the back button as normal. Takes about 5 presses, keeps refreshing current page.

Yes. Really annoying. I just came into feedback and help to make a thread about it and found one already here.

Chromium on Debian.

Also did it earlier today on Firefox on XP but I thought it was just me imagining things.

I've had this back button issue for ages, though never with BCF:

Seems to happen randomly on different sites like eBay or gumtree.

If you press and hold the back button, it should present a list of visited pages that you can select your page from (to avoid having to press quickly). I have no idea what's causing it though.

Back button doesn't work on my laptop at work, (XP, IE8) but only when I try to come back out of a topic.

When you go through the list of history under the back button, it just seems to show all the links to the adverts.
