do these bikes last high mileages?

r1100 r1150? triumph tourers are ok for the money but get a pan st1100 if you have the chance

BMW k100s are capable of clocking up huge mileages without serious issues. Just make sure the drive shaft has been greased regularly and that the water pump seals have been looked at at some point.

I had a few pet hates about mine and some build quality issues but a nice comfy soda if a ride albeit sounds like a bus at full chat.

I had a 900 trophy (think it was a 1999 model). Although in theory it was an excellent touring bike (and reasonably priced compared to similar bikes), in practice it made me pretty miserable.
It's an extremely top-heavy machine, even when riding solo without panniers. Load it up with a passenger and a few days worth of luggage and it is a complete pig at low speed work.
I kept the Triumph about 6 months before getting rid. By comparison, I've had my current bike, a VFR 800, for 5 years.
