There are easier ways to advertise your love for chav culture.

Anyway; first off, you don't need an inverter to power speakers.

You might need an inverter to power a mains powered amp.

But a much more sensible option would be to get a 12v amp, so you waste less power. There's lots of options available, for the aforementioned chavs.

Either way, it's probably best to work out the watts you need.

Then make sure the whole system including the inverter is specced to suit.

I've got a 800w 24v inverter that's smaller than a cheap 12v 1000w one.
24v should actually be smaller if anything, as it's closer to the target voltage and will pull half the amps for the same watts.

The 800 is fairly chunky in it's self.

These are just 'modified sine wave' ones - a 'pure sine wave' will be compatible with more kit. Things that transform power down again can have problems with modified ones (my laptop PSU buzzes a bit) and it can cause interference in things like amps.
