Tbh I have seen this happening lots of times, there was a queue in July for doing so.

Never seen a biker remove his kit and do it, but you get loads of pikeys there also who like to do it.

he was pointed out to by a councillor who had seen him and then he pleaded guilty.

He's obviously never gained legal advice from BCF.

It might be a better idea to just make it very hard or undesirable to jump from there. Big fence and a net half way down perhaps?

This really fucks me off. If people want to do this sort of thing then they should be allowed. No one elses life was in danger, why should some nazi have control of what I want to do with my life?

There's all manners of taxes to pay when someone dies. Sad

I jumped of it about 20 odd years ago a few times. No different from jumping of a peer. The only issue is when people are going up stream under the bridge. A few weeks ago they were jumping off the bridge and nearly landed on swimmers.

So that's why it lacks enough deep bits to be considered safe.

if you have ever done the drift dive down there and seen the no parking signs etc vandals threw in you wouldnt jump off the bridge ... we shifted all sorts of hazards protruding up off the bottom last time I was there ,including a set of railings . the good part was collecting all the loose change that came out of nob heads pockets.....£12 on the best day !

Love the notice.

I can just see it now. Set a CCTV camera on it. If anyone has both feet off the ground as they are crossing the bridge, fine them. They "Jumped from the bridge".

I always worried that someone jumping off the bridge could hit a scuba diver.

Anyway. I see the perfect solution. Pour some lighter fluid over your trainers and set them on fire just before you jump. Not only would it be awesome but it would also create a reasonable excuse. "Yes your honour. I jumped in the river to extinguish my feet, which were, at the time in question, on fire.".

Poor obs by the swimmers Laughing

They should know people jump off and should stay well clear of the bridge.

I think being fined for this is pretty stupid. They are only putting themselves at risk. It isn't like they're jumping onto a crowd from a multistory car park or anything.

What about skydivers and these wingsuit jumpers? They jump over cities and everything with actual people walking around underneath where they jump...

why would a fence be needed? the danger is obvious to all so jumping is a choice.
that said there is a large fence around the lion pen at london zoo and its to keep people out! as the pack of lions isnt enough deterrent.
maybe we do need protecting from ourselves.
