|
Hi
Just a plug for my other halfs new Cafe which is open for business from this weekend
It is the "Prospeed Pitstop" and is on Burnham Business Park, Springfield Road, Burnham on Crouch.
Next door to the Burnham Motorcycle Centre, so loads of bikes and bits to look at whilst your there. Also tyres, mechanical advice, etc.
The Cafe will be open from 8am every day, so a chance to ride the great Burnham Bends. Just on the outskirts of town, so no need to worry about parking on the double yellow lines
We will be having an opening event in the near future, so watch out for details on that. Also themed days and club meets will be going on all summer. So if you’re riding down to Burnham, pop in and say hello.
If you are riding down in a large group and want to reserve some tables or even just place your order before you arrive, give Claire a call and she will make sure everything is ready for you. Also Club nights, etc and be arranged if you are looking for a venue to meet.

I wish to ask the all biking community that visit Burnham-on-Crouch to further their good-standing and continue to make themselves welcome in the town by demonstrating the respect we, as a nation, generally show to our fallen heroes. I want to ask you all to discourage the few who continue to park their bikes actually ON our town's war memorial.
My family live in Burnham and I was raised there until I moved away when I joined the military in the early eighties. I know that I have a particular respect for those, like myself, that fought for our freedoms but who lost their lives in the act. Also, I have been an avid rider my whole life and love that the riding community has shaken off the negative images that it once had.
Throughout my childhood and on the occasions that I have returned home I can never remember seeing anyone show such little respect for our nations heroes as those few that have recently taken to parking their bikes on this memorial site. Lets not forget that, in some cases, it is the only marker of our lost brothers and sisters, so effectively these bikes are being parked on their graves.
Please help by politely asking those riders to park elsewhere, if you see them making this mistake. If you are one of those riders yourself; you will always be welcome in Burnham if you show the respect to our nation's heroes that they have earned in their sacrifices. Remember, their sacrifices have given you the freedoms that you enjoy whenever you ride. ____________________ Tony Clark |
