The first victory of the MaLi Jawa 615, rider Mike Edwards: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4vwAqvsGR0
It's more like a background video, about how the team works before and during the race with happy end.

Here's some on board footage, different rider and race: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPQKxBe4BgM

In the article, they don't tell full truth about the motorcycle, the bike might had less power than the MVAgusta, but the idea of V4 was that the engine, and the whole bike, was very thin/slim in comparison with in-line 4 bikes and that allowed it to go the same speed with less power = more reliability and they could compensate that they had no fancy materials as the MVAgusta had with better aerodynamics. And the engineer F. Pudil did not just go to do enduro's,government said: you're gonna do that or prison time, well he choosed bikes and got even better, more successful at it, then he could ever get at road racing Thumbs Up

Hitler once said, czechs are like cyclists, they work hard with their backs bent, and Frantisek Pudil is great example of that, which is quite sad if you think about it...

MZ is german and not that innovative nor successful, well they did some nice two strokes though Thumbs Up

Communists said before the 70's, that motorcycles are out-dated, which is why every development stopped before that and they were making the same thing next 25yrs and called themself the biggest producer of motorcycles, which basically means they flooded the world with ''crapy'' bikes Thumbs Down

They let Pudil to work on enduros, and they were still great, and on the other side, communists liked cars, so they've put quite a lot of money into Skoda, who made and still makes one of the best Rally cars in Europe and may the world. They were famous for their 2WD Rally cars and later for their 4WD cars.

TOP GEAR, about Skoda Rally cars: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6TnekG8Tmg

I'm trying to get one my self, CZ175/477 Sport, still can not get one that I'd like. The 477 has been made from 1970 to 1972 I think, anyway, it's old and gets over 60mph and parts are essentially everywhere and cheap, which means I love it Smile

My intentions with the 477 are to make it a bit more ''Sport'' get on in no battery ignition, toss away everything I don't need. The law says bikes made before 1975 don't have to have turn indicators nor rear mirrors.

Not at all innovative. It's not like they made a bike using a wankel rotary engine as a fully stressed chassis member, a modular frame and earles forks in 1960.

Even in 1905 they were thinking about aerodynamics.

I`ve just come back to this thread and I still believe that there is/was just so much wasted talent and potential in CZ/Jawa & MZ.

Such a shame that half of what is up here in this thread didn't make it to mass production and a bigger share of the market.

That sure is true pepperami, but I think it's nice to look back, even though it didn't go as well as people might wanted and were let down.

If you look around on the history of Czech republic, you might find out that there are tons of gadgets, discoveries and inventions made/done by Czechs, but then sold for miserable money to other countries and factories all over the world and people who did those inventions, discoveries, development and so on, died as poor unknown pensioners.

As I look around my room at the moment I can see contact eye lenses that I wear, sugar cubes, lightning conductor behind the window and so on. Thumbs Up
