Hi,

This is my first proper post so I though I should show a few pics etc. I passed my full test earlier this year.

I had a DT125 last year as a learner and sold it after the summer. After passing my test I got the CD200 because I wanted another bike and didn't have much money left.
Anyway, couple of pics.

I plan to get a bigger bike before next summer but enjoying this for now and impressed at how easy it is to work on.

Joe.

I'm pretty sure they only made the CD185/200 from 1977 - 1985.

You sure it wasn't a CM? Also, I would expect metal to rust if it is neglected.

Thanks, I don't think you are right because mines a Benly and its 1982. I think 'Benly' refers to the engine because other bikes have the Benly engine as well. I might be wrong though.

T Reg - 78/79.

And I know what a CM is, thanks.

Was still too slow for what it was, a CD175 is both faster and more economical, as well as being made out of decent steel.

Oh yep. I misread that and thought you meant 1999 T reg.

I had exactly the same bike years ago..bought it for instructing on pre DAS years and it was fantastic for around town riding and following CBT students on. Couple of straight thru megaphones made it sound like an old Brit bike.......however...exhausts rot and so do rear mudguards....fibreglass ones sort that out....one of the worst handling bikes I ever owned and if fitted with some of the shocking bad tires you get in that size and bad brakes.....anything over 70 was a chore....your 125 would be more fun! However proved bomb proof and easy to live with for what I needed it for. Yours really looks like a well looked after example in the pics and should keep you on 2 wheels UNTILL you get a bigger bike Smile

P.s. seem to remember one of the bike mags had one for a hack test and to test reliability they tied the throttle open left it in neutral and Started it,took bets on how long before it died! It melted the dip stick after 11 mins spat its oil out of the filler hole and took another few minutes to die due to oil starvation....impressive!
