Honda top of the pile again

V-Strom comes out well in the 126-650 band.

Figures better than last month for obvious reasons, up 11% for motorcycles.

Those pizzas weren't going to deliver themselves. Folded arms

WTF, Suzuki? They're either no shows or #3, it must be a laugh a minute for their dealers. Very Happy

I wonder if there's any merit in differentiating between "touring" and "sports/touring" any more? I mean, is there a significant difference in the market for the the R1200RT and the GSX1250FA? Thinking

In 3-5 years the market will be flooded with cheap BMUU GSs. (I hope)

Clearly they are, in the eyes of the children purchasing them.

As with wikipedia, where an SV650 is a sports bike because that's what Suzuki says it is, so it must be!

Also, I heard they claim BMW sells 'adventure' bikes too! Shocked

The Mondeo of the bike world. Does everything you want but doesn't dazzle.

I'm surprised by the V-strom considering the price of the BMW G650.

The G650 is a thumpy single and just doesn't feel that refined. It pulls well up to the legal limit but your prostate will take a pounding if you hold it there.

The Baby Beemer is now up to £6195 OTR before you start loading the OW-MY-WALLET! options on it, and you're unlikely to haggle much change back from that price. Contrast with Suzuki and their eternal sales and cashbacks and BOGOFs; I doubt you could pay sticker price if you threw it at them in cash and ran for the door. Optioned out, they're likely to be closer in price than the headline numbers would suggest.

When I was in being brainwashed at the local Motorrad test weekend, I don't recall seeing anyone else's name up for the G650, and few for the 800s either. Just different buyers, I suspect.

The G650 isn't even that light.
If you're going for a bike you want to be good enough off road to compete in a tight enduro and still cross continents, a single makes sense.

If you're using it for the majority of the 'adventure' use such bikes get used for - road touring at best - then a twin does make much more sense.

Sure you're now not in the market for a C650GT?
Being of-that-persuasion now.*

Thumbs Up
