Anyone got any idea what this Shoei helmet would be worth?

Ha! I am in Sweden and just picked it up off a friend on the weekend. Just wondering if it was worth anything?

Probably not.

That's a Shoei GRV, and they went out of production in 1990.
As a piece of 'safety apparel' it's functional value is negligible. It's a very old helmet and I would expect that the foam has probably turned to powder by now.
As the GP 'Replica', it was Shoei's headline hat at the time, and retailed in the UK for I seem to recall, just shy of £500. I got the Wayne-Garder replica in early '91 'discounted' as an end of line hat, for £350!
As a collectors item, there are folk who do buy them for display... but value they put on them is a bit of string job; depends on who's replica it is; what years colour scheme; how many they made; how successful they were, and all that sort of stuff, then whether the hats in displayable condition. But even then, I don't think collectors pay particularly big money for such items; it's a bit of a niche item.

Stick it on e-bay, if you must with warning its a twenty five year old hat, 'Not for Road Use - Collector Display Only'... see what you get.

Thanks for the informative reply. I had no idea about it's age as it's condition is amazing. Obviously Rainey was racing quite a way back but I would not have guessed that old. Must say the foam and inside is like new. It must have had very little use and still has the shoei bag! Pretty happy with it. Might go on display in my apartment!

Well there he is dueling with Kevin Schwantz at the 1990 British Grand-Prix at Donington, wearing the No.2 Plate, on his way to earning the Number 1 plate from Eddie Lawson.
He took the '91 Championship & retained it for '92 for a hatrick, and was likely to have made it four in a row in '93 when he had his career ending crash.
So that's the hat that would have been in the shops BEFORE he became a world champ.

What do you know about these bikes, how do they ride in comparison to modern 600cc sports bikes?
