After many attempts I have managed to get my bike running correctly in regards to the carb but I have come across a new problem, once I start the bike and run on idle the bike will change its rev pitch and sound as though as blowing out air then rev normally my conclusion is that its misfiring, this also accurs if I pull on the throttle a little, and whilst riding the bike for a length of time if I ease off the throttle my exhaust with pop and bang but will keep normal acceleration and maintain speed, have also noticed that there is a slight hole on the exhaust, would this be the main cause of this problem, or can someone give me any other advice, the bike I have is a 1992 Yamaha SR 125 any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you

Yes, a hole in the exhaust system can make a popping noise.
Bodge it or cut to the chase and get a new one.

Also check the HT lead from the sparkplug. i.e connection is clean cable isn't damaged and it fits snugly onto the sparkplug.

Leaking airbox can also be the cause of popping on the overrun, so check the lid is snug....and why not open it up, clean foam filter with petrol (outside Rolling Eyes ) and use some clean engine oil to re-oil it.
