sounds like you're changing down whilst going too quickly for the gear, or more correctly, too quickly for the revs you're currently at in that gear. this has the effect of massive engine braking and the result is a lockup of the back wheel.
the basic idea is either, do it slower. brake more, slow down more then change gear... OR.. the better way to do it...
say you want to down shift.. the routine is..
clutch in, blip the throttle (rev it quickly - not a lot, just a quick rev) then change and let the clutch out quickly but smoothly. don't do it slowly or the revs will drop again and you'll be back at square one.
so.
# clutch in
# blip throttle
# change gear & let clutch out
as long as you've 'blipped' sufficiently you should have a nice smooth gear change and no lock ups.
the process when braking is exactly the same, you just have to have better finger control as you'll be braking with 2 or 3 fingers and still need some control on the throttle to blip it.
perhaps this sounds complicated but it isn't. there should be loads of youtooob vids about it to get the idea.
or get a bike with a slipper clutch ____________________ CBR954RR - Daily toy
