MBk Ovetto starting problem

Hi

I have been given MBk Ovetto scooter, its been standing for a few years and I am trying to get it going. Put a new battery in, new oil and petrol. Tried to start with electric start, tries to start but won't, tried off the kick start, exactly the same, stripped it down and took out the carb and give a thorough clean, noticed there was no sign of fuel in the carb. Noticed from the fuel tank there are 2 pipes coming from a sealed unit, I assume its a fuel cock, I don't know much about scooters, not sure what this does but could this be part of the reason why its not starting, any help here would be very much appreciated as its driving me mad.

not familar with your partiular scoot, but what you are describing is the fuel pump, quite often the fuel tank is lower than the engine on scoots so needs to be pumped up to the carb,

make a little fuel bottle and feed the carb directly, and see if it will start,

Its very similar to a Yamaha Neo, if thats any help. I will try this fuel straight into the carb idea and see how I get on, thanks for that info.

Sorted, a friend of mine who has fixed scooters for years had it going in 10 minutes, got to the PetCock, dis connected it, sucked on it, put it back in, kicked it and it started first time.
