So while I was working away I treated myself to an old enduro bike off ebay, always wanted a 2 stroke off road bike since watching my dad and his mate scaring themselves on a KX500 when I was a kid.

What I've bought is a 1987 Can-Am ASE 406 that's been nut and bolt restored, with a couple of bit's that need looking at (dragging clutch, kick-start not returning and weeping rear shock) but is generally a really tidy looking bike, engine is a Rotax 406 (399cc IIRC) 2 Stroke which sounds pretty tight (and fucking loud...).

I'm pretty sure they sold these across the pond under the ATK branding and they seem to have a little more success/semi-cult status over there whereas over here there were apparently less than 50 of the 406's sold (possible bullshit but not investigated).

Now I'd like to know a little more about the company (like the CCM/Armstrong link), what bit's were pinched from other bikes, as spares are pretty hard to come by, and where I can pick up Rotax parts for sensible money over here (bought parts for a jetski from America and got raped on import tax).

Cheers in advance Smile
