Focusing on obtaining a A2 licence. I ideally want a bike which can be transformed into a 1970s Dirt Bike or even a Cafe Racer.

Why A2? Why not go for a bigger bike Licence? Well the genuine reason I want a Bike which isn't going to be greedy on petrol. It
won't be long till oil prices shoot up again as they always do.

At the moment I am looking for a nice semi-cruiser. GN125, SR125.
I don't mind the Chinese Huoniao HN125-8 Honda CM125 replica.
But I think I would draw the line there since other Chinese makes outside that known circle of Huoniao/Lexmoto. I dont intend on buying new.

My inspiration for getting a Bike comes from this website here.
https://blitz-motorcycles.com/

There is some good conversions on that site.
HONDA CM125

YAMAHA SR500
https://blitz-motorcycles.com/bikes/yamaha-500-sr-flying-tiger.html
BMW R100/7 (Would need a bigger license for this but is nice)
https://blitz-motorcycles.com/bikes/bmw-r1007-green-hornet.html

So after I've gone though a Winter of dodgy riding on a 125 I will be looking for a bigger bike. My 1st thought is keep it simple and my 2nd thought is if I spend a lot of money do as little modification as possible or if I spend little money do a lot of modification.

My choices would be.
HONDA CB400 (old style prefered).

YAMAHA SR500

SUZUKI TU250
https://cars-database.com/data_images/gallery/02/suzuki-tu250/suzuki-tu250-03.jpg

So that is my plan I guess.
I just like the idea of turning a regular commuter/road bike into something different.

And been watching that CAFE RACER series on TV. That is another thing to blame lol.

Pip pip.

You might as well get full A if you can rather than A2. It'll cost exactly the same and will give you access to a much wider range of bikes should your tastes change. You don't have to get a full power bike after your tests, and more than you have to get a McLaren to go with a category B license.

I came up through the HN125 route, and my experience is that they can be OK bikes if you get a good one and look after it. They're also very easy to fiddle around with if you fancy a change.

However, for ease of insurance, I'd suggest looking out for a Lexmoto Vixen branded one. Really though, the Japanese bikes will hold their value a lot better, if you can find one in good nick.
