Quick question.
The lower portion of the forks on my NSR are somewhat pitted (not the important part mind you) and I am wondering what to do to restore them...

https://cdn.bikechatforums.com/files/dsc_0581.jpg

I have no idea how they got like this, look like they have been pained in the past as the other fork has some paint peeling off it.
I do have access to sand blasting so can work it back to good metal however the sand blasing will no doubt result in a fairly rough surface as well sooo.
Would a filler primer be good enough not just to fill and smooth over the surface but also hold up to the abuse the front of the forks are subjected to?

If no what other options do I have here?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Best regards

Iain,
you may be onto something there.
I just assumed that they had degraded as the top is smooth (where the red writing is) but its rougher below.
I suspect I may have just derped here.
Will have another look when I get home.

Cheers for the thoughts guys.
