Just asking for trouble mate.

Riding down the M42, cagers beeping their horns at you as you carried on merrily with no rear lights at all, no side light or brake light when you slowed down. A couple of people tried to get your attention but you ploughed on oblivious.

I tried to pull alongside you to get your attention but you thought it was 'game on' for a little race and sped off.

Sort it out as you could be barely be seen in your black aplinestars leathers

Shocked

I rode to work with no rear light in the dark once, people kept flashing me every time I overtook, beeping their horns etc.

I just thought they were miserable folk and kept Middle Finger Middle Finger as I tore off in to the night

Laughing

The simple solution to a blown tail light is to make sure you are the fastest thing on the road.

...but when riding how would you know (a) it's blown and therefore (b) to be the fastest?

Doh! obvious really, always assume it's blown to be on the 'safe' side Wink

I got pulled over in a Capri once for having no rear lights. The old bill were pretty good about it although it was clear they were not going to let me continue home with my lights out (it was pitch black).

Anyway, they supplied torchlight while I fannied about popping bulbs in and out and wiggling connections to no avail but eventually they said they had to usher me on my way so they could get on with their shift.

I was so pissed off with the car that I slammed the boot down and, hey presto, all the lights came on. Much laughter ensued and they wished me a good night and sent me on my way after making me promise to have a proper look in daylight.

That's quite possibly the only encounter I've ever had with the police that resulted in genuine happiness.

I had a tail light blow when out on a ride years ago.One of my riding friends beeped me and I pulled over to see what was about. As the brake light filament was okay I wired it so that the brake light was on all of the time, which was far better than no light at all.
