I'm not religious in any way, but in the 1st video, he makes quite a few valid points to be honest.

That is just mental, once upon a time there were poor people and slaves in ancient Rome that ''invented'' christianism, to help them get through their miserable lifes and have something to believe in. They've picked a lad named Jesus, which was pretty common name back then, as their ''hero'', ''he'' was a carpenter, also pretty common job back then and then they took rich layer of the population, well aristocracy, that they hated so much and said, the aristocracy killed their hero. Cool fairy tale for adults, that had nothing better to do. Once someone saw people liked that crap, he wrote the bible and made the best commercial success and organisation of all time. That's how it's made, sort of. Thumbs Up

I once had an argument with a lad that believed, after I explained him a thing or two, he got so pissed, he tossed money on the table and left the pub. = Common sense 1:0 Crazy people. The best thing he said to one of my points was: ,,God has his plans with everyone of us.'' Yeah right, tell that to Africa. Since people invented air and space crafts they say there's no God in the sky, but in every living creature. I give it another 100 yrs and then it'd be all gone and we all will be just people again.

I am not sorry if you got offended with this post, please do not force your children into this madness, be cool and let them choose when they are old enough. Jews got this even further, they found and old medical book years ago, where they saw the circumcision and thought, hey, that's actually a great idea, let's do this. Rolling Eyes

Does he fuck.

He says science is fake and the Earth is 6000 years old.

He also says that because science is ever changing, always striving to find out more and more every day that is is wrong and we should stop all that and just read the bible because it hasn't changed in 400 years. So what he's saying is that the human race should stop advancing and stay exactly where it is.

People like that get me so angry, I cannot accurately put it into words, i'll just end up mashing the keyboard in a rage, but I'll try to put down a few things.

Firstly, if it wasn't for what he calls 'fake science', a lot of things to do with that video simply would not exist. Microphone and the video recorder. We're also watching that video on the internet, something that would not exist if it wasn't for science.

I'd like to bet he watches TV. Perhaps even satellite TV. Did God put that satellite into orbit around the Earth and allow it to send and receive massive amounts of data to millions of people all over the world? No, science did.

If we stopped this 'fake science' then we would revert back to the dark ages where you were lucky to live to 40 and even then it will have been a pretty grim existence.

It makes me sick to think that he has kids and that he will have brainwashed them to believe the same things that he does, further slowing down scientific research and development, either directly or indirectly.

I'd just like to make it clear that I have nothing against anyone being religious no matter how stupid I think the concept is, it is their choice. What I do object to is religion interfering with non-religious people/other religions/society in general. Also trying to brainwash other people into thinking in the same way as they do is a disgusting thing to do as the man in the first video is clearly doing. What should happen is people should be able to find out about religions on their own and make up their own mind.

Which leads me on to another topic. Isn't it brilliant that children 'believe' in the exact same religion that their parents do? And that most countries have a 'dominant' religion. How amazing is it that depending where you were born, that religion is the correct one and it is forced upon you from an early age rather than letting you mature and then make up your mind as to what religion (if any) you believe in.

That's enough for now, if I write anymore I might give myself an aneurysm.

As tbourner said, I also find it really frightening that people like that still exist.

Not because of predjudice - but i genuienely struggle to have close relationships with anyone who is strongly religiously minded.

I'm not going to call the 'i know it all' card and say theres absolutely no chance of a 'god', as i'm as clueless as anyone - but some of the things they come out with are just downright absurd to anyone with a shred of common sense...

I used to work with a woman in a hospital who would finish every sentance with god bless you, and randomly burst into hymn songs whilst sat quietly on lunch break in the same room - i'm sure if i was to of ever questioned this i'd be done for religious intollerance. But it did make me wonder how i'd feel if i was on my death bed and had someone putting their hopes in 'the almighty' looking after me Rolling Eyes

It seems common sense, manners, and most others things are acceptable to be dispensed out the window once someone 'finds religion' Brick Wall

I still don't get it why isn't religion illegal?

A few things: incitement of hatred, fraud and deception, real and personal property scam, corruption, misrepresentation, abuse of feeble-minded, child Abuse (I know, it's a low blow, but, heh cool joke Laughing ) and many other offenses that the law punishes...

Earlier, I'd add murder, genocide, incitement to racial hatred and so on...

Side note: Even though I study the Law, I do not know every law term in english. Thumbs Up

Let's make everyone believe that Noah lived til he was 980 or something. because he was a nearer descendent of Adam, the further away you get from Adam the less amount of time you'll live ... that's why we only live til 40 (said in the past) now it's getting longer!

"He" sent his son, that some people believe is the God, part of God or actually his son to die for our sins that he allowed us to commit. AND because he's all knowing and shit, he knew this was going to happen, I ask this often to religionites ... They say free will, so i reply with, so God doesn't know what we're going to do then?

Simple if God is this all knowing being that can do what he wants (but he can't be arsed to do) why put us onto a planet to complete tasks that he knows will be completed in the very order it will happen?

Be like watching a film that you created

If Aliens visit the planet and had over a copy of the bible... I'll believe it, until then, not a chance in hell (pun intended.)

Watch a documentary called "Jesus Camp" to get rid of that last bit of hope for the human race.

I had a very interesting conversation with a CoE vicar on the subject of 'free will' in respect of 'choosing' God. When explained to me, it did actually make sense, but it just wasn't believable sense so I chose not to believe it. But, in essence, where us mere humans can see that being called by name but having free will to choose God is in direct contradiction, in God's world the two sit independently of each other - you can choose God at any point in your life, but you won't choose God if he hasn't called you by name. It makes little sense because it surpasses our human understanding, so you have to have faith.....

I don't have faith.

That said I don't knock religion. My wife's the daughter of a former pentecostal pastor and grew up within that environment - she turned out just fine as have her brothers. They've all made their own choice about God in their later years of childhood, and it didn't do them any harm whatsoever to pray before eating whilst sitting down to dinner with their family. In fact having been brought up in Christian circles, I would say, has positively improved their character.

Me and three mates had to appear in court a few weeks ago.

Even though we all told the gospel truth, we ended up getting a few hundred hours community service each.

The trouble with the gospel truth is that we all gave slightly differing accounts of what actually happened.

Today I learned of how the Greeks had things down. They knew about general celestial mechanics, had calculated the radius of the earth, size of the moon, orbit of the moon, and a few other things.

Then religion took over and we had what we now call the Dark Ages. Y'know, with the burning of witches, ducking stools, crusades, and all that. And it wasn't until the Renaissance, from the 1400s onwards, that we started to claw things back.

Cheers, religion! Thumbs Up Middle Finger Middle Finger Middle Finger !

I'd say: well, if the god is so powerful, why the hell do we have to come to this church of yours every week. He'd probably say, we can't tax your stupidity when your at home my son. Cool

I know Percy, fun fact: burning of witches, was not religious thing at all, it was only a instrument to how to possess someone's property. Easy and fast to do, just let the right people point a finger at someone and her and even his property was yours.

Or, it was quite common thing, that ''church people'' poisoned an inconvenient person so they could say, the devil possessed him and could kill him too. They already knew knew what plant does what.

And all that in the name of God, no one asked, well those that did got somehow possessed and forced to admit something, that not only does not exist but is stupid, so they could kill them in peace. This interrogation somehow sounds like what they do in Guantanamo bay, today. Twisted Evil Laughing
