[Car] Clio sunroof leaking

1998 Clio, electric sunroof is leaking.

The road is cambered and the water pools on the front right corner.

The seal is clean and not punctured.

Somehow water is getting in a making the roofing wet just above the plastic trimmed post on the drivers side.

Any ideas?

hi, to let the water out of the sunroof as it will naturally let water in through the gaps in the roof there will be 2 or 4 small pipes that run off the corners to take the water away, 2 at the front run down inside the pillars and the other 2 down the door pillars or tailgate pillars and release the water safely.

need to drop the head lining that is reasonably easy to do take each pipe off and blow all gunk stuck in the tube out its just blocked somewhere with dirt

headlinings are easy, just pull the lights down disconnect, pull the rubber from the doors down and then the band around inside the sunroof that will release it and the rest is held with clips just gently pull down one clip at a time and you will see all the workings just find the tubes in the corner Thumbs Up

Cracking bit of advice there but surely it's simpler to start with just finding the ends of the drain tubes and seeing if they're blocked? If that doesn't work out, then do what is recommended above as then it can be checked to see that the tubes are still attached and the seals can be checked where they can't normally be seen Smile

Yeah this is most likely the case!

I had an RS Clio which has no sunroof and I had a leak through the arial. Take the internal light cluster cover off and find the nut holding the arial on, undo, pump full of silicone inside and out and re attach.

A quick way of knowing wether it is this or the sunroof will be when you remove the light cluster, the inside of it will be wet, possibly even the surrounding head lining. If it, arial is st fault Thumbs Up

Pulled the roof centre console off and it was all good.

Hmm when i hear of this problem i wonder if a liberal application of a lubricant around the rubber would help it seal better and not let water in...

I was thinking grease but that seems too messy and you don't want to rot the rubber so maybe some KY jelly or something... Shocked

Its not leaking through the seal between the glass and the seal.

The sun roof on my BMW must be leaking too as I get absolutely soaked when it rains. Even if it is parked on the centre stand too. Confused
