Hey gals and guys,

Just registered for this forum but have been getting some great guidance from here for a while now so thank y'all for that.

Spent all my money this summer getting my NSR's engine re-built after a heat seizure (familiar story I know). The mechanic finished the job and then we realised the thermostat was foobar. As the mechanic was a long way from where I live he took it out and sent me on my merry way. I've just gotten round to checking the price of these things and they're expensive little fuckers. Was just wondering what the compatibilty is like for thermostats across the NSR125 range as I've seen some for other models on ebay for far less. After spending so much on the bike this summer i'm loathe to spend more than I have to now.

Would an NSR JC22 thermo fit my 1993 FM? Also, what are the effects of running an engine without a thermostat? (or maybe ignorance is bliss)

Ta very muchos,

same stuff , but not necessary during mild and warm days
you may test your's by :
- boil some water in a pan
- drop it in , when the water make gentle bubbles you may see it opening
- if the water boils hardly and if it's still closed , throw it away
- you may run your engine without it , but when wheather is cold your engine will take 3 to 5 mn more to warm
